Firstly, as it affects my principal question, what is more demanding on PSU power: a newer 8600GTS or an elder (but maybe more powerful?) 7900GS/7950/X1950 etc? I'm looking to build a gaming rig for pretty wearing clothes graphics without going to hand the expensive cards like the 8800. ($200 tops), which lead to my main put somebody through the mill...
The Asus T3 bare bone seem to be good attraction and has a PCIe x16 slot but single a 250watt PSU. The more expensive shuttles make also seem to be to range from 200-400watts and claim to be fine beside most graphics cards. So assuming they fit physically and I'm running AMD4800, 2gig, 1 hard drive, or something similar to that anyway, what sort of gfx card can I expect to run problem-free on 200 or 250watt PSU?
SFF PCs and a PCIe graphics card (Power required)?
The new directx10 architacture cause a larger power drain as it is new and not on the other hand perfected.
High back graphics cards (PCIe x16) will propably require a direct link to your PSU so buy the best.
