I enjoy unbranded PIII 800 MHZ System with Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional O/S but my sytem cannot detect USB drive on Win 2000 but it can detect on Win XP.
How can my system detect USB disk on win 2000?
USB not detected by Windows 2000 Professional?
Windows 98, and within some cases Windows 2000 does not recognise USB connectors but don't loss heart, you can download USB drivers from websites that are available. But before you jump ahead with this, the first entity you have to check is if the USB is recognised by you system. Go to Computer properties and check for the USB choice. If you have the wan mark on it the reinstal this.
that should solve your problem. Alternatively you can upgrade your computer to Windows XP that to be sure will pick the USB drive.
If your USB disk came beside driver cd, install it otherwise, downlaod USB 2.x where is is 0,1, 2 from the internet. I guess if your USB driver from the property looks ok, after the version that runs the USB disk is complex than what you have presently. So the best prospect is upgrading your OS
Good luck
restart computer or check the services started on your computer there should be an auto detect plug and play service for detecting usb
adjectives i can think of right very soon is go to computer> than to Removable disk
