What is ACPI standard ?

What is Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standard ?

What is ACPI standard ?

Been a while since I explained this.

ACPI is a hardware interface that provides standard ways to integrate power supervision features throughout a PC which includes your hardware (BIOS), operating system (Windows) and installed software (usually to power down your machine, but software have been developed to wake up up PCs and devices through ACPI).

ACPI allows yours system to automatically turn peripherals on and off, such as CD-ROMs, grating cards, hard disk drives, printers, and anything connected to the box. ACPI organization software can also activate you piece of equipment.

Note: Your computer system BIOS does have to be compliant contained by order for ACPI (2.0) to work. This is adjectives problem in Vista power control with elder PCs I've heard.

Hope this help...
