however if you inevitability a custom unit you will entail the following:



pick a motherboard and cpu chip for your needs

find a power supply that fits the motherboard

find a chassis that the motherboard will fit into

buy a sturdy drive and if needed a floppy drive and USD portcard that mounts on the chassis.



buy a monitor, keyboard and mouse.



these are the brass tacks, you can upgrade the video, but the newer motherboards have most of the devices built within.
Following are the components you will need to build a PC on your own:



a. Motherboard

b. Processor (with disciple and heat sink)

c. RAM

d. Hard Drive

e. Optical Drive (CD/DVD) ROM or Burner

f. Monitor

g. Keyboard and Mouse

h. LAN and WLAN cards if you want to exchange cards

j. MODEM, Sound and Video cards if not already built within Motherboard.

m. Casing
