Two question, almost disk hutch and user-accessible jumper-switches!?

Sorry everyone, if this be asked before!

I am thinking of buying a Seagate Hard Drive(the following model, Seagate ST3500630AS 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 16MB Cache 7200RPM - OEM),

beside the following specifications,

Form Factor 3.5 x 1/3H

Dimensions (WxDxH) 10.2 cm x 14.7 cm x 2.6 cm

Weight 0.64 kg

Capacity 500 GB

Interface Type Serial ATA-300

Data Transfer Rate 300 MBps

Spindle Speed 7200 rpm

Buffer Size 16 MB

what disk enclosures would you recommend for this?

and also, sorry if this is a stupid examine, what is a user-accessible jumper-switch?

Thanks in finance!

Two question, almost disk hutch and user-accessible jumper-switches!?

For that specific hard drive, you could buy any type of barred enclosure for as long as it:

1. supports 3.5 form factor

2. supports SATA

here to start: http://www.newegg.com/product/productlis...

(I have filter it down for you)

Also, try to get aluminum enclosure; they dissipate heat better than the plastic ones.

user-accessible jumper-switch is, I believe, something that your frozen drive supports so that you could select either SATA-150 or SATA/300 operation. It's speed piece (150 is 1.5 Gbit/s, while 300 is 3.0 Gbit/s transfer rate)
