What controls our dsl nouns speed? is it the modem?

Hi i am a technician for SBC-Yahoo.

The modem doesnt really own anything to do with the speed.

Yes it is the bunch that you will take lead that will determine your speed. Check ur speed at http://helpme.att.net/dsl/speedtest/... no matter who ur DSL provider is.

No, the distance from the centralized office is not really a BIG factor because we own REMOTE TERMINALS that helps the subscribers to own a high speed nouns though they are far.

YES, your computer itself is also a factor, you can have a slow- browse nouns when ur pc have low RAM. make sure that your browser too is not lower than 128-bit. You can see it on your Internet Explorer Browser: backing > about internet explorer

Make sure that your modem is also away from ElectroMagnetic Interference. they are halogen lamp, carpets, microwave ovens.. cellphones, magnets, and so on...

ask me more. email me at tyroneturbomax@yahoo.com and sick be glad to help you.
The modem have a maximum speed, the speed of your connection itself is controlled by your internet service provider,

depending on what speed bunch you are on..
it more about the dsl or the connetion to the internet. but surrounded by modem i think it's slightly affect the nouns speed.
internet provider sets the max speed depending on what plan you buy. your actual speed is determined by how close you are to their central organization. so if you buy a 3.0 mb plan from yahoo and you are 18,000 ft away it will probably never reach 3.0 mb. thats one drawback of dsl
DSL modems max out at in the region of 6 megabits though newer ones can go difficult. Your ISP determines how much speed you get. The more money you clear per month, the more speed.
