Should I reapply thermal cement for my Heatsink/CPU when I replace motherboard?

I just this minute replaced my motherboard, (The old board be dead for unknown reason). I didn't know in the region of thermal paste. After I replaced motheroard, my computer peak sometimes lose signal, and the computer stop functioning, (even though the power led still on), and adjectives I can do is turn off the PC manually by pressing the power button and afterwards turn it back on again.

I assume that this related to the CPU be overheated, is it related to the reality that I didn't reapply the thermal paste when replacing topical motherboard? Should I open the travel case and apply thermal paste for it?

Thanks adjectives

Yes you should always apply a fresh cloak of thermal compound.

You might need to check your BIOS and bring in sure the thermal shutdown isn't set too low. It might be set at the factory setting which is too low for standard use.

Also make sure you didn't over tighten the screw creating a short.

Good Luck!

You should do that indeed. Another silly question. When using the unmarked motherboard, did you need to re-install your operating system? Unless by some indiscriminate you replaced the motherboard with the exact same model, the OS is deeply attached to the mobo it was installed near.
if there is somewhat bit on the cpu it is fine you don't need to put to much consequently it will over head if you put to much. thermal join is not for the cpu to get cooler it merely protect itself from over heating but to much can burn the cpu and board. I don't cogitate it is the board or cpu soulds like a illustrative card issue if the graphics card is maybe getting to hot or someone overclocked it and shuts stale you need to find out i conjecture strongly is the graphic card.
